As part of the campus effort to operate more efficiently, Business and Technology's Computing Operations and Information Services (COIS) unit will merge with IST effective September 1, 2009. COIS will report directly to the Deputy CIO for IST.
In the short term, the unit's functional operations will remain the same. For the remainder of fiscal year 2009–10, commitments and financial arrangements will remain unchanged, and customers will continue to contact the same staff for service and support.
COIS will continue to provide the same high-quality service to Administration and their current customers, while working with IST to find new avenues of collaboration to offer a broader range of campuswide solutions. COIS' variety of services will be an excellent complement to other IST offerings. This change provides an exciting opportunity for capable professionals to work more closely with one another.
