The start of the semester is a peak period that corresponds to increased load on our infrastructure combined with high levels of anxiety for incoming students. To minimize the potential for disruption during this time, IST is implementing a two-week freeze on changes impacting student systems. The freeze will be in effect from 7:00 am, Friday, August 14, 2009, through 5:00 pm, Friday, August 28, 2009.

Affected systems include:

  • SAMS
  • CARS
  • DARwin
  • Bear Facts
  • Graduate Admissions
  • Undergraduate Admissions
  • Tele-BEARS
  • Info-BEARS
  • Online Add/Drop
  • Course Approval
  • Class and Room Assignment
  • Transfer Course Articulation
  • Student Registration
  • Student Fees
  • Student Census
  • Student Records
  • Summer Sessions

Customers with time-critical changes may request an exception through the IST Change Release Management (CRM) team. To request an exception, contact the IST Service Desk, 642-8500 — option 4, 1.

Due to the high volume of activity, customers may notice delays when provisioning IST services unrelated to student systems during this period.
