As previously announced, Berkeley is collaborating with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) to launch a new voicemail system for the campus. The new system offers the same services as our current system but at significantly less cost.
The system installation is on course and we are making progress gathering information to complete the installation. Beginning about the week of September 7, IST will start adding beta testers to the new system.
Deployment
Deployment of the new system is now scheduled for September 26, 2009. IST moved the date to avoid any possible negative impact on departments at the start of the fall semester.
Training
We are currently setting up trainings and tutorials for the new voicemail system and will announce details when they are available. In addition, prior to deployment, we will release basic instructions such as how to access the system and record your personal greeting, as well as introduce the website where such information can be found.
