The CalShare Team is proud to announce the availability of self-paced computer-based training for CalShare, UC Berkeley's implementation of Microsoft's SharePoint Portal and SharePoint Services. SharePoint is a web-based collaboration and document management platform that allows users to easily create, manage, and build collaborative websites. In addition, CalShare offers content collaboration, strengthens security, and extends interoperability across Windows, Mac OS X, and other platforms.

The CalShare training modules are accessible from the Resources section of CalShare. For more information or to view the training modules directly, go to https://calshare.berkeley.edu/Resources0/cbt/default.aspx.

The self-paced computer-based training (CBT) lessons will help you understand how CalShare can be used across organizational and geographic boundaries to enhance collaboration and productivity. These CBT lessons, developed by a company named Mindsharp, provide on-demand education for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Each CBT lesson is designed to help you resolve common problems or questions you may encounter as you use SharePoint. The 65 Flash-based lessons have been organized to target two main audiences:

  • Site members: These are generally users with Contribute access.
  • Site owners: These are generally users who have Full Control or Administrator Level access.

Within these audiences we have grouped the CBT's by the following topics:

  • SharePoint Basics
  • SharePoint Libraries and Lists
  • Team Collaboration
  • Site Administration
  • Site and Web Page Management
  • Site Customization
