The eProcurement/eSettlement project has launched! The project is a campuswide Procure-to-Pay initiative sponsored and funded by Administration, which will transform the current campuswide systems by significantly improving purchasing-to-payment transactional operations. Oracle (PeopleSoft) will provide the software modules and lead the implementation for the UC Berkeley system. SciQuest will provide the catalog management portion.
The Core Project team includes Gina Grossi, the interim project manager, and team members representing Disbursements, IST—Application Services, Procurement Services, as well as Oracle and SciQuest.
Six campus departments are participating in the design, configuration validation, and testing of the new system. These same departments will also pilot the new system and provide valuable feedback.
- IST Administration
- Plant and Microbial Biology (part of College of Natural Resources)
- Engineering Research Support Organization (ERSO)
- Haas School of Business
- Psychology (part of Letters and Sciences)
- University Relations
The system is projected to be released in phases for various campus departments beginning fall 2008. The phased release will continue through spring 2009. The actual schedule for departmental implementation will be determined at a later date, through negotiation with departments, with respect to project and department staffing issues, timing of other major technology projects on campus, and fiscal calendar considerations.
UC Berkeley is working on developing a consortium model to use the SciQuest catalog feature with the following UC campuses. This collaboration will allow catalogs to be shared across the campuses. It will also reduce replication of efforts and the total administrative overhead cost to each campus for managing their respective systems.

- Riverside
- San Diego
