IST's Infrastructure Services is pleased to announce a new web application for registering devices for use on the campus wired network. The new Wired Network Device Registration application replaces the former LIPS/DHCP MAC Registration service. As with the former service, users will register the Media Access Control (MAC) address of each device they wish to connect to the network. The new application allows users to easily view all of their registered devices and adds the following new functionalities:

  • BULK registrations — unlimited number of MAC addresses at once
  • Lookup individual MAC addresses
  • Modify MAC address
  • Delete MAC address

Instant registration is also supported.

This new service is available now at https://net-sec2.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/dhcp_registration/dhcp_mac_registration.pl. The old LIPS/DHCP MAC Registration application will remain in service until April 8, 2009.
