Nuance software: Call for departmental interest.
IST's Software Programs Office is measuring departmental interest in software from Nuance. Nuance is a software company that provides speech recognition, imaging, PDF, and OCR solutions. Should there be enough interest in certain software titles, the Software Programs Office is prepared to explore site license opportunities to benefit the entire campus. Responses are due by Friday, May 30, 2008.

IST announces a change in the recharge rate for services provided by IST-Application Services programmers. Effective April 1, 2008, the rate has increased from $77 per hour to $82 per hour.

SNS announces the Aggressive IP Distribution (AID) list to help protect campus computers.
IST's System and Network Security (SNS) group now offers the AID list, a service that identifies Internet IP address locations from which SNS has seen aggressive attacks being launched towards campus hosts.
